Weezer Hit The Surf on New Single 'Beach Boys': Listen

Turn it up, it’s Weezer’s latest single off their upcoming album Pacific Daydream. On Wednesday (Sept. 13), the band tweeted a short teaser of their new song “Beach Boys,” a breezy track that features the dreamy chorus: "Turn it up/ It's the Beach Boys/ Singing out in a sweet voice/ On a roll like a twist toy/ Keep cranking them Beach Boys."

The style of the band's new song makes perfect sense in light of their decision to scrap the original title for their upcoming 11th release, The Black Album, for the more apt name: Pacific Daydream. A press release described the album as "the Beach Boys and The Clash fell in love by the ocean and had one hell of an amazing baby,” and Weezer made this incredibly clear by giving one of the inspirations a song of the same name.

Back in March, Weezer started off strong with Pacific Daydream’s lead single, the, well, summery “Feels Like Summer,” debuting at No. 1 on Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart. “Beach Boys” is considerably more lax than that recent hit, but its sunny feel makes it ideal for saying a slow goodbye to warm weather.

Weezer will usher in Pacific Daydream this fall with a short series of tour dates in the UK, joining the Foo Fighters to support their upcoming winter tour in Australia.  View the full list of tour dates on Weezer's site. Pacific Daydream will be released on Oct. 27. Preorder the album here, and check out the lead single “Feels Like Summer” below.
