Fiona Apple has a heartfelt message for Sinéad O'Connor, who recently posted a confessional video to Facebook revealing her struggles with suicidal thoughts.

"I want you to know that you are my hero,” Apple says in a new video posted on YouTube on Thursday (Aug 10). “I just saw the video of you and I don’t want you to feel like that. I don’t want you to feel like that. You’ve given so much. And I wish I could be there. I wish I could be of some use to you. I’m your friend -- that’s all I want to say -- and you’re my hero.”

In O'Connor's worrying video, posted Aug. 3, the 50-year-old Irish singer said she was suicidal and living in a New Jersey Travelodge motel. Apple has had her own struggles with depression, which she spoke about extensively in her now-famous Rolling Stone cover story interview from 1998.
