(L-R) Adam Clayton, Bono, Larry Mullen Jr., and The Edge of U2 perform in concert during The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 at NRG Stadium on May 24, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

U2 are currently touring Europe on their Joshua Tree Tour and while in Paris on Tuesday were joined by Patti Smith for an emotional performance of the album's closing track, "Mothers of the Disappeared."

Earlier this month, Bono and the band were joined by opener Noel Gallagher to sing Oasis' "Don't Look Back In Anger" in honor of the victims of the recent Manchester bombing attack.

The Joshua Tree will return to North America in September. U2's decision to dedicate a full tour to their iconic album, instead of simply a number of unconnected shows, is attributed to current events around the world, as they saw their music find new resonance and connection with the public.
