War on Drugs

In yet another testament to laboring in the studio for the perfect guitar tones, The War on Drugs have shared yet another track from its forthcoming major label debut A Deeper Understanding

Ahead of its Aug. 25 release on Atlantic, the Philadelphia-bred rock outfit is back with “Strangest Thing,” a near-seven minute slab of towering synths and guitar. Frontman Adam Granduciel and his collaborators build off the repetition of one dramatic riff, dousing it with the sonic ingredients for another blissful excursion into the band’s universe. If you liked 2014’s Lost in the Dream, the War on Drugs isn’t about to leave you hanging.

The new song premiered today (July 18) on Zane Lowe’s World Record Beats1 radio show. You can listen to “Strangest Thing” below, accompanied by a new visual from the band.
