Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins recently stopped by the Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit concert, an event hosted by James Hetfield and Sammy Hagar every year to benefit research into children’s cancer at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco. Grohl, Hawkins, and keyboardist Rami Jaffee decided to try out a brand-new song they hadn’t “played for anybody” called “The Sky Is a Neighborhood.”

Some fans documented the bluesy tune, which Grohl pounded out on acoustic guitar; watch footage below.
