Both Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed paid tribute to a 19-year-old stagehand who died breaking down their set after a gig in Stuttgart, Germany on Monday (Feb. 20). "This is beyond heartbreaking to everyone in the band and on our crew," wrote Avenged Sevenfold in a Facebook post; a second 26-year-old man was also injured in the incident.

According to the post, the 26 year-old fell "a very far distance" from the rafters while disassembling the stage and landed on the unnamed 19 year-old, who died from his injuries; the 26 year-old is reportedly in critical condition. "We all send our thoughts and prayers to the man in the hospital, both families involved, all of the local Live Nation crew and everyone else whose lives have been affected by this terrible accident," they wrote. "We love our crew so much as well as the many local staff who are essential to our show every night wherever we are around the world. This is such a stark reminder of how quickly an accident can happen and lives shattered in the process."

Disturbed posted a similar tribute, saying that the "horror and heartbreak felt by everyone on the tour is beyond words." Read the band's full tribute below:

No other details on the incident were available at press time and spokespeople for the groups could not be reached for further comment. Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Chevelle were slated to perform in Milan, Italy, on Tuesday (Feb. 21), but the show was canceled due to what the promoter said was an illness affecting Avenged singer M. Shadows.
