Red Sun Rising and Badflower will support stateside run

Michigan rockers Pop Evil have announced a new run of headlining tour dates.

The Rock ’N’ Roll Now Tour: Right Now will wind though the United States in January and February. The trek begins Jan. 10 at Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, Ky., and wraps Feb. 26 at Dreammakers Theater in Sault Sainte Marie, Mich. The band will take an international detour to Grand Turk in the Turks & Caicos Islands when it co-headlines the ShipRocked cruise (which launches from Miami on Jan. 16) with Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Alter Bridge, Sevendust and The Stowaways. Providing support on Pop Evil’s stateside dates are Red Sun Rising and Badflower.

Pop Evil singer Leigh Kakaty says, “What an exciting time to announce a full headline tour across the states, as we launch our final single off [our 2015 album] Up, ‘If Only for Now.’ It’s no secret, as a rock musician this is a very difficult era to survive in. That’s why we take it very seriously to appreciate what is happening right now by living in the moment. We are not taking success for granted, and will continue to wave the rock’n’roll flag!"

"It’s time for the rock community to come together to spread the awareness that rock’n’roll is a force to be reckoned with," Kakaty continues. "Come join us this January as we embark on our rock’n’roll quest across the states on the Rock ’N’ Roll Tour: Right Now!”

The aforementioned “If Only for Now” is currently No. 21 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Up’s previous singles “Footsteps,” “Take It All” and “Ways to Get High” all hit the top three of the list. The album, which was released through eOne Music, has sold 57,000 copies, according to Nielsen Music.
