Sting's Rainforest Fund to Celebrate 27th Anniversary With Gala, Special Guests

Eric Ryan Anderson

Sting has been giving back via his Rainforest Fund since its inception in 1989. This year, as the fund celebrates 27 years, he and wife Trudie will host their now-annual gala in celebration of another successful milestone.

So far, Sting and Bruce Springsteen are slated to perform, with other special guests being announced soon. Past years have seen performances from Elton John, Lady Gaga, James Taylor and more.

"One of the things about this night, the audience comes expecting to see unusual combinations of singers," Sting said in the press release. "Because I’ve never recorded it, everyone lets their hair down. We raise a good amount of money for what I consider to be an incredibly important cause, but they have one heck of a night.”

This year's gala will take place on Dec. 14 at Carnegie Hall. Tickets are on sale now via the box office at 57th Street and 7th Avenue, or call Carnegie at (212) 247-7800 or visit
