Flaming Lips Plea 'Legalize It, Every Drug Right Now' In Trippy Video For New Song 'How??'

Here’s one for #NewMusicFriday -- the second official sampling from the Flaming Lips’ forthcoming studio album Oczy Mlody. Wayne Coyne and friends shared a druggy soundscape called “How??” this morning (Nov. 11) to preview the Jan. 13 Warner Bros. release.

If you were somehow unclear abut Coyne’s views on magic mushrooms and wacky tobacky after all these years, he pretty much lays it all out here. The song opens with: “White trash, rednecks, earthworms eat the ground / Legalize it, every drug right now.” The rest of “How??” follows on both the theme and melody built from that couplet, building and building on layers of lingering synth strokes, sampled sounds, and high-pitched distorted vocals.

“How??” arrives via a new music video, which in typical Lips fashion, manages to make their home base of Oklahoma City look as psychedelic as anything in Oklahoma possibly could. Check it out below:
