Twenty One Pilots Announce Triple-Disc Live Album Just in Time For the Holidays

Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots perform on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 8, 2016 in New York City.

2016 has been a wild ride for Twenty One Pilots. Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun started off the year as a theater-playing act mostly unknown to the mainstream and ended it as arena headliners with a trio of top-five Hot 100 hits. This Thanksgiving weekend, they’ll cap off the year with a vinyl-only live album recorded last month on their Emotional Roadshow world tour.

Blurryface Live comes from their Oct. 18 concert at Oakland’s Fox Theater. So far, no non-vinyl formats -- digital, CD, etc. -- have been announced; this one appears to be strictly for the record-buyers. And it’s no ordinary vinyl. Each LP is a black and red picture disc, featuring images of the duo in action. Nov. 25 is listed as the official release date.

Twenty One Pilots’ Emotional Roadshow tour currently has North American and world dates scheduled through April 2017. Along the way, they’ll perform at the 2016 American Music Awards Nov. 20 in Los Angeles.
