Leonard Cohen can't slow down. The 82-year-old songwriting legend with the signature low, rumbling voice will release his 14th studio album in the fall on Sony Music, You Want it Darker. Produced by the 82-year-old singer's son, Adam Cohen, Sony said in a statement that, "as Leonard’s record company for over five decades, Sony Music is proud to be associated with this remarkable achievement. This great artist continues to astonish us. Uncompromising and urgent, YOU WANT IT DARKER is the latest chapter in Leonard’s significant contribution to contemporary music and thought."

Darker is Cohen's follow-up to 2014's Popular Problems. It was revealed this week that Cohen wrote a touching letter to his former muse, Marianne Ihlen, shortly before her death on July 29. “Well Marianne it's come to this time when we are really so old and our bodies are falling apart and I think I will follow you very soon," he wrote to the woman who inspired songs including "Bird on the Wire."

"Know that I am so close behind you that if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine."
