Omar Rodriguez-Lopez will be unloading 12 solo albums in the next six months, with one in particular sure to catch the attention of Mars Volta and Red Hot Chili Peppers fans.

The album Arañas en La Sombra was recorded with Mars Volta's original lineup of Jon Theodore, Eva Gardner and the late Ikey Owens, as well as beloved former Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante.

As Rodriguez-Lopez emptying his vaults of music with the dozen new releases recorded from 2008-2013, mxdwn.com reports Arañas en La Sombra is the oldest of the batch and dates back to 2012 -- the year before Mars Volta split up. All the bi-weekly releases will come via Ipecac Recordings.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez-Lopez is currently wrapping up the tail end of his early post-hardcore band At the Drive-In's international reunion tour. He has also recently teased the possibility of reuniting Mars Volta. 

The first of Rodriguez-Lopez's albums, Sworn Virgins, was released Friday (July 15). Watch the video for "To Kill a Chi Chi" here:
