Beck performs onstage during the 2016 Pre-Grammy Gala and Salute to Industry Icons held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 14, 2016 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The single follows last year's alternative radio hit, "Dreams."

Yesterday (June 1), Beck took to Instagram to tease his latest jam, a trap-influenced thumper called “Wow.” The whole thing premiered today on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, World Record.

Check out the lyric video below:

The Grammy-winner wouldn’t give an official date, but it appears an album is on the way, too. “It exists,” Beck confirmed. “We’ve been working on this a few years so this body of songs has this energy I think will be very good for our live shows.”

The new, Greg Kurstin-assisted album was born before Beck drew the ire of Kanye West by winning Album of the Year at the 2015 Grammys. Beck revealed he started work on it before 2014’s Morning Phase was released. It was supposed to come out in 2015, but Beck says tour opportunities contributed to its delay. He starts his summer 2016 tour tomorrow at New York’s Governors Ball, so he joked that he almost has to have the album done by tomorrow.

And given the prolific craftsman he is, Beck hinted he’s got even more music in the can: “We have half of another record, too, hopefully.”

Hearing the party-starting sound of "Wow," it appears the new album is headed in a completely different direction following the somber Morning Phase. Expect more news on the way.
