Red Hot Chili Peppers Postpone Another Concert as Anthony Kiedis Recovers From Flu

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis is “expected to make a full recovery soon” after being hospitalized due to complications from the flu, an update on the band’s website says.

Kiedis was taken to the hospital in an ambulance just hours before the band’s headlining set time at KROQ's Weenie Roast in Irvine, Calif., on May 14. The band is now calling off its May 17 concert at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, Calif., as well.

“Due to Anthony Kiedis' hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th. They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of well wishes. Anthony is expected to make a full recovery soon,” the statement says.

At press time, the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ next scheduled tour date is May 23 at Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio.
