"I did a lot of things to create a dynamic to create an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there," Leto told E! while promoting Suicide Squad at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon. "The Joker is somebody who doesn't really respect things like personal space or boundaries."
And that’s not all: Last year, we caught word that Leto sent co-star Margot Robbie a live rat, while Will Smith got bullets and the cast received a dead hog.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (who got some “sticky Playboy magazines” from Leto) told E! the hog “was a good gift because it had the effect of unifying us as a group.” The actor (who’s playing Killer Croc) said the cast then sent the pig back to Leto, with its own personalized letter.
There’s no word if the Joker had the guts to make any special deliveries to Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Ben Affleck.
So will Leto’s hi-jinx loosen up the cast toward a rip-roaring spin on the Batman universe? We’ll see when the David Ayer-directed film hits theaters on Aug. 5.
