Cream's Ginger Baker Calls Off Tour Due to 'Serious Heart Problems'

Ginger Baker, drummer for Cream, has canceled all upcoming tour dates after being diagnosed with “serious heart problems.”

“just seen doctor… big shock…. no more gigs for this old drummer…. everything is off…. of all things i never thought it would be my heart,” Baker wrote on his blog.

"To all fans; it is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of all shows. Ginger's doctor's have insisted that he have complete rest due to diagnosis of serious heart problems,” Baker’s team added in a Facebook update. “We hope you will all join with his family in wishing him well. God bless Ginger Baker.”

Upon hearing the news, several fans commented that Baker should give up smoking. His team responded to many of those comments to say that the drummer “gave up smoking months ago.”

No additional details about his health condition have been shared at this time.
