Watch David Byrne Perform Talking Heads Songs With Arcade Fire at Montreal Bash
Byrne took the stage at Arcade Fire’s Kanpe Kanaval benefit concert, and performed some old favorites for the audience in their home base of Montreal. The Society for Arts and Technology show also featured the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, which backed Arcade Fire in last month’s New Orleans David Bowie tribute parade.
They performed three Talking Heads songs: “Road to Nowhere,” “Slippery People,” and “Naive Melody.” They wrapped with “I Bid You Goodnight,” which Byrne wrote for Robert Wilson’s opera The Civil Wars.

Kanpe Kanaval, which has now occurred four times, benefits a Haitian charity co-founded Arcade Fire’s Régine Chassagne, whose parents emigrated from Haiti during the dictatorship of François Duvalier.
Saul Williams, Rainn Wilson, Gardy Fury, Vox Sambou and Fwonte were also on the lineup.
Arcade Fire is in the early stages of building support for its forthcoming follow-up album to 2013's Reflektor. They have not announced any formal touring plans, though this summer they will perform at three festivals: Portugal's Nos Alive, Spain's Bilbao BBK Live and Ontario's Way Home Fest.
