Angie Bowie to Remain on 'Celebrity Big Brother' After Ex-Husband David Bowie's Death

Cast members of the U.K.’s Celebrity Big Brother typically have no contact with the outside world during their time on the Channel 5 reality show. But Angie Bowie is featured in the current season, so the show made an obvious exception after her ex-husband’s death yesterday (Jan. 10).

"Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives,” Channel 5 said in a statement (via The Independent). The 66-year old opted to remain on the show.

The spokesperson also said she has been offered appropriate support or the option to leave the show at any time if she chooses. 

The guests entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Jan. 5.

The pair married in 1970 and divorced in 1980. On a recent Big Brother episode, Angie Bowie said she had not seen her ex-husband in nearly 40 years. They had one child together, director/producer/screenwriter Duncan Jones.
