Metal Allegiance is a supergroup featuring members of over a dozen famous bands. Their press release likens them to a metal version of the Avengers, in their championing of the genre’s lifestyle. All this led to a self-titled 2015 debut album, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere of the lyric video for one of its biggest bangers.

“Scars” features Death Angel's Mark Osegueda and Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia on vocals, Testament’s Alex Skolnick on guitar, Megadeth’s David Ellefson on bass, and Winery Dogs and Twisted Sister’s Mike Portnoy on drums.

"This song is all about our life as musicians who travel the world and see so many contrasting lifestyles, beliefs and hardships,” Ellefson says.

Speaking to Billboard, Skolnick went into more detail on the lyrics:

“The lyrics are a lament on modern times, with the male voice representing an honest person at wits end, scarred by all the falseness and deception he’s encountered in life and dismayed at the negative impact of human behavior on a global scale. He’s balanced by the female voice - she appears as a soothing angelic presence, offering hope and a reminder to stay strong.”

Scabbia adds, “The love we all have for music and what we do for a living added to the fact that we cherish our friendship created an even bigger explosive factor that will blow your minds!”

The ten-song debut album also contains contributions from the likes of Randy Blythe, Phil Anselmo, Jamey Jasta, and many others.
