School of Rock: The Musical – “You’re in the Band”

The Broadway adaptation of School of Rock is almost here, and we’ve got a panoramic experience to get you in the mood with Dewey Finn, the hardest-rocking substitute prep school teacher.

School of Rock -- The Musical will feature all the songs from the hit 2003 film, as well as new show tunes from Andrew Lloyd Webber. And here's one of them! “You’re in the Band” is a mission statement from what to expect in the stage adaptation, along with a little bit of the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

But it’s not just your typical YouTube video. Notice the arrows in the upper left corner? You can use those to drag around the whole classroom, snagging a 360-degree, panoramic view of the whole space. Barring any sudden technological advices, you won’t even be able to do that while seeing the show live.

Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater will be writing the new music. Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is adapting the story and Laurence Connor (who co-directed the latest Les Miserables Broadway adaptation) is directing. Rob Cavallo -- who produced Green Day's American Idiot and, in turn, inspired the musical of the same name, has also signed on to the School of Rock creative team.
