Billie Joe Armstrong's Son Jakob Joins the Family Business: Hear His Music

The 16-year-old -- who records under the name Jakob Danger -- already has a record deal.

For most people, taking over the family business means helping dad with his construction company or stepping up to the plate of your mother's CEO position. For Jakob Armstrong -- the 16-year-old son of Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong who goes by the stage name Jakob Danger -- it means signing to Burger Records and releasing singles ahead of his upcoming album.

Jakob Armstrong's songs were posted in late June and picked up by NME this week. The voice behind "King of the World," "Waiting to Dance" and "Don't Try" doesn't sound like it's coming from someone who's just 16, and the Vaccines-reminiscent tunes are full of pop-rock angst that do the Armstrong name justice. Check out "Don't Try" below:

Jakob isn't the only Armstrong following in Dad's footsteps: The Green Day singer's other son, Joseph, is the drummer for Swimmers, who are also signed to Burger.
