Stephen Colbert made an appearance on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show Tuesday (Aug. 18), and things took a karaoke-related turn when the host mentioned Colbert's past as the frontman of a Rolling Stones cover band.

"We were called Shot in the Dark," Colbert told Stern, "[but] we called ourselves 'A Shit in the Dark' because we sucked so badly." Of course, Stern happened to have a backing track for The Late Show host's go-to, "Brown Sugar," on hand. Colbert was more than willing to give listeners a taste of his Mick Jagger impression. The voice? Not quite there. But the moves? A+
