Journey Will Play With New Drummer Following Arrest

Following Journey drummer Deen Castronovo's arrest Sunday on domestic violence charges, the band has announced Omar Hakim will replace him on its upcoming U.S. concerts and Canadian tour. 

Journey Drummer Charged With Domestic Violence

In a statement Thursday, Journey cited "Deen Castronovo's pending issues" and wrote, "We are very grateful to Omar filling in with his musical excellence."

These dates include a show at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl on June 20 and the Stadium of Fire in Provo, Utah, on July 4. The band's Canadian tour runs July 6 to Aug. 3. 

Journey Drummer Ordered to Anger Management Following Domestic Violence

Hakim has been active as a drummer and session player for more than 40 years, playing with Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Sting, Dire Straits, Kate Bush, Daft Punk and many more.
