Producer Jason Samel is using his talents for the greater good with his latest compilation, Buy this Fracking Album. Specifically, the producer (whose resume includes work with everyone from Willie Nelson to Jane's Addiction) wants to use his music to draw attention to the controversial practice of fracking. Buy this Fracking Album features politically-minded songs from Michael Franti, John Butler Trio, Bonnie Raitt, the Indigo Girls and many others, uniting to "give voice to the voiceless, compete in some way with the multi billion dollar corporate megaphones, and give support to those activists who have been strong enough to stand up and exercise their First Amendment rights," as Samel tells Billboard.

"Across the globe fracking is causing devastating effects to our environment, communities, government, and health causing widespread earthquakes, highly contaminated drinking water, and folks just getting downright ill," says Samel. "Mainstream corporate controlled news media gives little voice to the fracked and offer unrealistic insight into the harm fracking does to our dear Mother Earth."
