L.A.'s synth-inclined rockers Smallpools released their debut album less than two months ago, but they're back to the grind with another new song. This time it's a cover -- a reworking of College & Electric Youth's "A Real Hero," which you definitely know if the Ryan Gosling-Carey Mulligan flick Drive (or its soundtrack) meant anything to you. They recorded it at the Red Bull Studios in L.A. and are premiering it exclusively via Billboard; check it out below:

"We couldn't not pay attention to this hauntingly awesome tune while watching Drive," Smallpools vocalist Sean Scanlon tells Billboard. "The song is a gem and we wanted to do a cover that was a bit under the radar, and by putting our own ambient twist to it, it could provide a nice down tempo moment in our set."
