Alt In Our Stars Podcast: Incubus' Drug of Choice? Caffeine
Brandon Boyd and company promise another EP to follow this month's "Trust Fall (Side A)" and maybe even more.
Incubus is back! May 12 marks the release of Trust Fall (Side A), the band's new EP and first studio release since 2011. They're hitting the road this summer with fellow loud rock artisans Deftones, and they're here to fill us in on the latest developments in Incubus land.
The entire Incubus crew stopped by Billboard's New York office to chat with Alt In Our Stars host Chris Payne. The follow-up EP to Trust Fall is on its way, and according to guitarist Mike Einziger, they might even make a Side C. And the discussion went well beyond new music. Being the cultural scholars they are, Incubus discussed how drugs of choice have shifted across genres and eras (and why they've settled on caffeine), how the cast of Star Wars has aged, and coming to grips with pop culture's constant nostalgia cycles.
"The moral of the story is that wherever we are now is the best," frontman Brandon Boyd concludes. "And ten years from now, that will be the best."
