His brother, Nolan Cook, the band's other guitarist, announced "the untimely passing of Oakland musician extraordinaire" Cook this morning, though details about his death and age are not yet available. Cook played with Dimesland and Wild Hunt, and was "a special guitarist and a wonderful individual who will be deeply missed by the Bay Area music scene and by the many who were fortunate enough to have collaborated with or otherwise known him," according to Nolan Cook. "We have lost an incredibly kind, funny, and talented human being."

Dimesland is an up-and-coming metal band who just released their critically acclaimed debut album, Psychogenic Atrophy, last winter.
