Morrissey Announces 2015 U.S. Tour Dates With Two Special Guests
Last June, Morrissey canceled a sizable chunk of his 2014 U.S. tour after he contracted a nasty cold, which he kinda blamed on opener Kristeen Young. Today (April 3), the Morrissey site True to You announced a new slew of confirmed U.S. dates, beginning June 11 in New Orleans.
The tour covers theaters and arenas, including Madison Square Garden in New York and Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House. And there are a pair of high profile openers, even if each is only on hand for one date: Blondie will open the June 27 MSG show and Amanda Palmer will open the July 25 show in San Jose.
There are no details as to whether these venues will go vegetarian for the Morrissey shows, as the singer has demanded in the past.
As previously announced, Morrissey will also play Firefly Music Festival, which runs June 18-21.
At any rate, here’s to hoping for a clean bill of health and a happy, cancelation-free tour for Moz. On March 31, he wrote of “the guilt I feel at my own happiness” regarding his recent European tour, so here’s to the good times!
