Haley Reinhart Talks 'Idol' Judges, Fall Tour
If you were rooting for Mariah Carey to become the next "American Idol" judge, you weren't alone. "Idol" season 10's third place runner-up, Haley Reinhart, was gunning for Carey to replace Jennifer Lopez as well. Reinhart recently told Billboard that she was sad to hear the news that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler were leaving the judges panel but that it would be exciting to see what new direction the show would take.
"I think that they have a really great opportunity to fill in these gaps with some amazing people who are very musically inclined and can add a great sense of musicality to the show. It's going to be sad to see them go but I know there's a lot of great names that I'm hearing." When asked who she'd like to see sign onto the show, Reinhart immediately responded that she thought Carey would make a logical choice. "I think there's nobody better than a wonderful singer like herself to be able to give other singers critique."
Reinhart also said that she'd be a fan of Adam Lambert or Gwen Stefani sitting behind the table in the absence of Steven Tyler.
The Island Records recording artist arrived on the 2012 Teen Choice Awards pink carpet on Sunday sporting a "Listen Up" necklace, the title of her freshly released album. Reinhart proudly showed it off, explaining that she's been wearing it every day since her record came out on May 22 and that she's determined to see it succeed. In the spirit of promotion, she sang us the first few lines of her latest single, "Free" which we so happened to capture on camera (above).
Reinhart, who says she's been "feeing some fun., Gotye, and Black Keys" these days is gearing up to perform at Lollapalooza in a few weeks. "After that we're looking at a fall tour."
