Kelly Clarkson tapped into her mysterious side for her newest Kellyoke cover. On Monday (Sept. 27), the singer/talk-show host opened up The Kelly Clarkson Show by singing Depeche Mode's 1990 hit "Enjoy the Silence."
Clarkson took to the stage in a zebra-print dress and was backed by her live band, who helped make the moody hit all her own. Clarkson peppered the lyrics with her signature vocals riffs and runs, singing, "All I ever wanted/ All I ever needed/ Is here in my arms/ Words are very unnecessary/ They can only do harm."
"Enjoy the Silence" served as the second single from Depeche Mode's seventh studio album, Violator. The song was a top 10 hit for the English electronic band, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
