Kelly Clarkson covers "Another Sad Love Song" by Toni Braxton during 'Kellyoke'

Kelly Clarkson took it back to the '90s on Monday (Jan. 11) by kicking off The Kelly Clarkson Show with a cover of Toni Braxton's classic single "Another Sad Love Song."

With her initials spelled out in purple lights on the floor, the talk show host slightly updated the new jack swing of the song's original arrangement with some help from her house band, Y'All.

"It's just another sad love song/ Rackin' my brain like crazy/ Guess I'm all torn up/ Be it fast or slow/ It doesn't let go/ Or shake me/ And it's all because of/ Here comes the strings/ Then somebody sings/ It's just another lonely love song," she wailed on the chorus before going for the key change on the final note of the track's forlorn bridge.

Written by Babyface and Daryl Simmons, "Another Sad Love Song" was originally released in 1993 as the lead single off Braxton's self-titled debut studio album. The ballad earned the singer her first-ever Grammy Award — in the now-defunct best female R&B vocal performance category — at the 1994 ceremony. (That same year, she also picked up the trophy for best new artist.)

Other recent Kellyoke covers Clarkson has graced viewers with as of late include Kacey Musgraves' "Rainbow," Selena Gomez's "Rare," Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" and Madonna's "Borderline."
