Just days after it was revealed that "Don't Tell 'Em" singer Jeremih, 33 was on a ventilator while battling a severe case of COVID-19, his family has offered an update on his condition. In a statement to CNN, a spokesperson for Jeremih's family said they first wanted to remind people that "COVID-19 is real and not to be taken lightly. It's important for people infected to quarantine and let their families and friends know ASAP. There's no shame in contracting COVID-19, and people that have it need to be responsible and considerate of others."
The singer, born Jeremy Felton, was reportedly hospitalized in a Chicago ICU earlier this week; at press time a spokesperson for Jeremih had not returned a request for comment. The family reportedly said the use of a ventilator is "rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions," but that it was necessary because the deadly novel coronavirus has "viciously attacked his body."
