Billie Eilish released her latest single "Therefore I Am" on Thursday afternoon (Nov. 12), less than a week after surprising fans with the news that the song was on its way.
The dark, bouncing track came with a pandemic-appropriate video in which Eilish gets her steps in at an abandoned mall, running around to hit all her favorite stores and snack spots, swiping up soft pretzels and doughnuts while singing about how much you don't know about her.
Rocking an oversized cardigan and shorts, Eilish strolls through the legendary Glendale Galleria mall while singing, "I don't want press to put your name next to mine/ We're on different lines so I/ Wanna be nice enough/ They don't call my bluff/ 'Cause I hate to find/ Articles, articles, articles/ I'd rather you remain unremarkable/ Got a lot of interviews, interviews, interviews." The dark pop track with one of her signature throbbing beats and whispery vocals appears to be a reckon with the global stardom Eilish has achieved over the past two years.
