Christina Perri is doing something she never imagined she'd do. The singer who shared the devastating news that she'd suffered a miscarriage earlier this year has posted a series of revealing maternity pics celebrating the joy she's feeling about her impending second go-round as a mom.

"I never wanted to do a maternity shoot," Perri wrote on Monday evening (Nov. 9). "I didn't take any photos when i was pregnant with carmella because i was so traumatized by the experience of expanding so much, but then after having a miscarriage in January, everything changed for me." Perry and husband Paul Costabile are parents to daughter Carmella and following her miscarriage in January she wrote that they were "shocked and completely heartbroken" by the loss, even as the singer hoped to "help change the story & stigma around miscarriage, secrecy and shame."

Part of overcoming that stigma and shame, she wrote in her Monday night note was being thankful about her life. "i am truly grateful to be pregnant and grateful to be a woman," she wrote. "i am so blown away by what our bodies can do. i don't know if i'll ever be pregnant again, so this time i'm going to celebrate and honor my pregnancy, my baby & my beautiful body."

She followed with a series of artful nude photos in which she is cradling her pregnant belly.
