Of course Chrissy trolled him about it.
John Legend was feeling a certain kind of way early Friday morning (Nov. 6) when Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden unexpectedly took the lead in Georgia, putting the former two-term Vice President that much closer to defeating President Trump. So of course Legend did what any EGOT-winning singer would do, he sang about it.
"He has been waiting to post this for 5 hours," Legend's wife, Chrissy Teigen joked about John's tweet featuring his rendition of Ray Charles' ode to the Peach State: "Georgia On My Mind." The soothing rendition of the 1930 song written by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell that was made famous by Charles' 1960 rendition -- and which became the official state song in 1979 -- was just what the frazzled nation needed as the vote counting stretched into a third day.
