Gorillaz Drop Long-Awaited Song Machine 'Strange Timez' Collection, Announce Live Shows

After months of teasing out tracks, the Gorillaz released their full Song Machine: Season One -- Strange Timez collection on Friday (Oct. 23), and revealed a series of upcoming virtual and live tour dates.

Seven episodes of the project have dropped so far, with trippy animated videos following animated band members Noodle, 2D, Murdoc and Russel jamming with guest stars including The Cure's Robert Smith, Elton John, Peter Hook and Slowthai in the studio and across the planet.

Gorillaz co-founder Damon Albarn and Remi Kabaka and a group of artists who appear on Song Machine will take part in a live chat on Friday at noon here. The Song Machine Tour will have the virtual band broadcasting their first live show since 2018 on Dec. 12 and 13 here, with three separate gigs taking place across three time zones followed by scheduled gigs in Koln, Germany, on June 16, Berlin on June 18, Luxembourg on July 1 and London on Aug. 11; ticket information is available here.
