James Corden opened Tuesday night's (Oct. 6) Late Late Show with a Paul McCartney parody in which he took on Pres. Trump's reckless COVID-19 statements with the song "Maybe I'm Immune." Seated at a grand piano, Corden performed the song just a day after Trump returned to the White House following a three-day hospitalization with COVID, which has now spread to two dozen key West Wing staffers and military officials and sent the Joint Chiefs of Staff into quarantine.
The song, which highlighted Trump's steadfast refusal to wear a mask despite experts' best advice, swapped out McCartney's 1970 lyrics to "Maybe I'm Amazed," opening with Trump's video message that included the 74-year-old president saying, "I learned so much about coronavirus. I know there's a risk, there's a danger, but now I'm better... and maybe I'm immune, I don't know."
