Ahead of her eight albums, Taylor Swift always drops one memorable bop as the lead single. But which hit resonates with you the most?
"Love Story" from her sophomore LP Fearless tells the reimagined tale of Romeo and Juliet, which has been remixed as a TikTok disco dance. But the song that really got Swifties moving was "Shake It Off" from 1989, an upbeat anthem about letting go of the little issues that danced its way to the top for a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2014.
The other lead singles to go No. 1 on the all-genre tally include the matter-of-fact breakup jam "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" from Red, which scored Swift her first No. 1 Hot 100 hit ever, and "Look What You Made Me Do," the electropop track about not trusting people who've spoken poorly about Swift from Reputation.
