Among the many heart-wrenching side effects of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown is the way it has separated loved ones. Some people can't visit their parents or partners in the hospital and others, by either quirks of fate or necessity, are being forced to shelter-in-place without the ones they love.

Britney Spears is one of the latter. The 38-year-old singer revealed on Wednesday (April 29) that after recently returning to Los Angeles from her ancestral home in Louisiana that she is socially (and physically) distant from longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari.

"I have been quarantining since I got back from Louisiana weeks ago …. so basically I haven’t seen my boyfriend @samasghari in what feels like a lifetime !!!!" Spears wrote in a caption to a trio of pics of her wearing a floral crop top and a sad expression about missing her partner of more than three years. "I have actually lost weight from missing him …. now none of my pants or shorts fit !!!!!" she said. "Guess that’s what missing someone can do ❤️ …. who else is experiencing this ????!"

She's lonely, but in a post using the same pic, Spears added that she didn't have enough words to express "how happy I am to find solitude in my beautiful home every day." She also hoped that all her fans are staying safe and doing their part to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Oh, and using the same snap again, she noted, "I have oranges, lemons, berries, and rosemary on my shirt …… what more can I ask for ??????"

The posts came on the same day Spears revealed that she'd accidentally burned down her gym after leaving a few candles burning six months ago.  "I had two candles, and yeah, one thing led to another and I burned it down," she says in the clip."It was an accident …. but yes …. I burnt it down."
