Bebe Rexha arrives for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards on Jan. 26, 2020, in Los Angeles.

Bebe Rexha took to social media on Monday (March 16) to share the tragic news that an acquaintance of hers has passed away after contracting novel coronavirus.

"This is NOT A JOKE. A friend of a friend just died of corona at the age of 45," she tweeted, before imploring her followers: "STAY INSIDE YOUR FUCKIN HOUSE AND DO YOUR CIVIC DUTY. PLEASE."

In a follow-up tweet, the pop star also took aim at President Trump, calling on the federal government to provide financial relief for the American public in the midst of the global pandemic. "The US government should put a stop to rent payments, mortgage payments and utility payments at least until the corona virus is under control," she wrote. "Millions of Americans are worried about keeping their jobs and their homes instead of staying safe. @realDonaldTrump."
