Harry Styles Reveals the Mystery of Eroda Island in Epic 'Adore You' Video: Watch

After an elaborate, monthlong trip down countless rabbit holes and confounding dead-ends, Stylers finally got their first long look at the fictional island of Eroda on Friday morning (Dec. 6) when Harry Styles revealed the epic fish-tale video for the first official Fine Line single "Adore You." The fantastical, seven-and-a-half-minute Dave Meyers-directed clip zooms in on the made-up island off the coast of England, where a magical marine animal teaches Harry about love, companionship and trust.

A soothing voice-over from fellow Columbia Records artist Rosalía -- who eagle-eyed fans noticed had liked an Eroda tweet earlier this week -- explains how the perpetually cloud-covered, frown-shaped island was forever suspended in a sulking, "resting fish face" funk until the birth of a "peculiar" child with a magical, golden glow. That child, of course, is Styles, whose sunny smile blinded and so confused the island natives that he decides to walk into the cold ocean to end his misery.

A funny thing happens on his way to oblivion, though. Just as he's filling his pockets with rocks, Harry discovers a golden fish stranded near the shore. "Loneliness is an ocean full of travelers trying to find their place in the world," Rosalía says over the beginning strains of the song. "But without friendship, we are all lost and left with no hope, no home, no harbor." And then Styles' vocals kick in and the new best friends' epic journey begins.

"Walk in your rainbow paradise/ Strawberry lipstick state of mind," Styles sings over an insistent beat as he searches for a way to safely transport his scaly friend to a new watery home. "You don't have to say you're mine, honey/ Walk through fire for you, just let me adore you/ That's the only thing I ever do," he sings on the song's yearning chorus.

Meanwhile, Styles wanders through the fishing village, transforming ladies' hair into wild styles with his gleaming chompers, dancing on grassy promontories while sharing mini tacos with his rapidly growing fresh catch as Meyers takes viewers on a trip to the various quirky locations teased in the Eroda viral campaign for the soulful track. When his sole mate gets too big to carry around, Harry rallies the village to help him set the fish free into the ocean, at which point the sun finally breaks through and everyone learns to smile again.

The magical tale ends with Styles cueing up a record on his one-man dinghy and seeking his fortune elsewhere. Fine Line is out Dec. 13.
