As artists geared up for a nice holiday break this Thanksgiving week, there were still plenty of exciting happenings in the music world. Garth Brooks paid a visit to The Kelly Clarkson Show, Mariah Carey broke Guinness World Records, and Madonna shared a beer with Lil Nas X at one of her Madame X shows.

Of course, Thanksgiving Day also brought the stars out, with NCT 127, Ozuna and more performing at the 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Plenty of others shared sweet messages giving thanks on Thursday (Nov. 28), from Kelly Clarkson to T.I.

Take a look at this week’s biggest music moments below.

Justin Bieber dyed his hair pink

Justin Bieber has gone through plenty of hair transformations over the years, but his latest look may be the boldest yet. He was spotted playing basketball in Beverly Hills on Sunday (Nov. 24) with pink hair, and though he hasn’t shared a pic on his own social media, fans immediately took to Twitter to petition for a pink-haired selfie. Something tells us it won’t be too long before that happens.

Billie Eilish was named Billboard’s 2019 Woman of the Year

There’s no denying that Billie Eilish has had a huge year, and she’ll be capping off her 2019 achievements with the Woman of the Year honor at Billboard’s Women in Music event next month. At just 17 years old, Eilish is the youngest Woman of the Year honoree, but she is certainly deserving of it: On top of dethroning Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” on the Billboard Hot 100, Eilish also became the first artist born in this century to top the Billboard 200, and is the first woman to notch four top 10 hits on the Alternative Songs airplay chart.

Post Malone earned his first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100

Fresh off a win at the American Music Awards, Post Malone had another thing to celebrate on Monday (Nov. 25): “Circles” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100. The song marks his fourth No. 1 on the chart but first as a solo artist (his previous three were “Rockstar” feat. 21 Savage; “Psycho” feat. Ty Dolls $ign; and “Sunflower” with Swae Lee), which is also the most Hot 100-toppers of any artist since October 2017.

Garth Brooks made Kelly Clarkson emotional (in a good way!)

When the country superstar stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday, Clarkson asked Brooks about his favorite songs to cover. After singing a few snippets of classics by Otis Redding and Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Clarkson brought up Brooks’ cover of Bob Dylan’s “To Make You Feel My Love” -- little did she know, that one was going to bring her to tears.

Mariah Carey broke three Guinness Records

Everyone knew Mariah Carey was the Queen of Christmas, but now the Guinness World Records organization have made it truly official. The superstar was honored with three different records on Monday, thanks to the ever-lasting legacy of “All I Want For Christmas Is You”: highest-charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Hot 100 by a solo artist, most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours (with over 10.8 million streams last December) and most weeks in the U.K. singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song.

Omarion and Bow Wow announced a tour together

2020 is about to feel like 2002: Omarion and Bow Wow are hitting the road together. B2K’s Millennium Tour was so successful this year that Omarion decided to extend the trek to next year, but this time with Bow Wow and some of their 2000s cohorts like Soulja Boy and the Ying Yang Twins. The pair will announce the tour dates on Dec. 2, but in the meantime check out the tour flyer here.

Madonna drank Lil Nas X’s beer at her L.A. show

Madonna spotted the “Old Town Road” rapper at one of her shows at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern, and of course she couldn’t not acknowledge him. But she did more than call him out, as Madonna sat down next to Lil Nas X for a little chat -- and a sip of his beer. Lil Nas wasn’t upset about surrendering his beer to the Queen of Pop: ”I’m in the presence of a legend, I'm just happy to be here," he said. Thankfully for those who weren’t able to witness the moment in person, Madonna shared the entire exchange on her Instagram.

Camila Cabello fired back at haters of her PDA with Shawn Mendes

The “Living Proof” singer sat down with BBC Radio 1's Greg James on Tuesday (Nov. 26), which included a game of “Unpopular Opinion.” When one fan said, “Public displays of affection on Instagram are too much,” Cabello joked that she felt “personally attacked.” But she backed up her joke with a fair point about her and Mendes’ lack of privacy thanks to the paparazzi: “You honestly get kind of desensitized to it. You're like, 'Well, might as well just make out on Instagram!'"

P!nk freaked out over Bishop Briggs’ tattoo tribute to her

Bishop Briggs revealed some new ink on Wednesday (Nov. 27), sharing a pic of a tattoo on the left side of her head that reads “Kindness is an act of rebellion” -- a quote said by P!nk, whom Briggs shouted out in her post. The singer said the quote “really resonated with my heart and how I try to navigate the world,” and P!nk was touched: “I think my heart just stopped,” she responded.

Ariana Grande called Billie Eilish her "sweet baby”

After Billie Eilish said in an interview that she would switch lives with Ariana Grande because, "Can you imagine opening your mouth and that comes out?” (how we all feel, really), Grande sent love back to the “Bad Guy” singer. “My sweet baby,” she wrote on Twitter in response to Eilish’s comment. Grande, Billboard’s 2018 Woman of the Year honoree, also showed love for Eilish earlier in the week, posting the singer’s WIM announcement on her Instagram story with a heart emoji.

Celine Dion, NCT 127 and more performed on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

There were some monumental performances at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! NCT 127 became the first K-pop group to ever appear at the iconic celebration with a performance of their hit “Highway to Heaven,” and Celine Dion celebrated her first No. 1 album in 17 years with a performance of her Courage single “Imperfections.” Several other superstars were part of this year’s parade, with Idina Menzel, Ciara, Ozuna, Black Eyed Peas, Chicago, TLC, Kelly Rowland and Debbie Gibson also performed.

Travis Scott, Katy Perry and more stars celebrated Thanksgiving with family and friends

In the middle of stuffing their faces with turkey and spending time with family, countless superstars took time to give thanks on social media on Thanksgiving Day Thursday (Nov. 28). “Thanks for keeping the rage alive,” wrote Travis Scott; Katy Perry celebrated with Orlando Bloom in Kyoto, Japan; and Christina Aguilera shared a sweet throwback pic to celebrate. There’s plenty more where those came from -- check them out here!

The Weeknd, City Girls and more released new tunes

Artists don’t stop even on a holiday week! The Weeknd surprised fans with two new tracks this week, first releasing “Heartless” on Tuesday and then unveiling “Blinding Lights” on Thursday. City Girls celebrated JT’s return to the group on the fiery new track “You Tried It,” which aims at those who tried to discredit them while they were apart. Two exciting albums also arrived this week, with Ozuna’s Nibiru proving his crossover appeal and Kacey Musgraves bringing the holiday cheer with the soundtrack to The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show that just hit Amazon today. Get Billboard’s rundown of the new tunes here!
