Sam Smith performs during the second day of Lollapalooza Buenos Aires 2019 at Hipodromo de San Isidro on March 30, 2019 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Clear out those Halloween cobwebs because Sam Smith just kicked your holiday season into overdrive. The singer dropped a surprise cover of Donna Summer's 1977 disco pop classic "I Feel Love" on Friday morning (Nov. 1) produced by Disclosure's Guy Lawrence. The joyous take on Summer's signature hit will be featured in Target's holiday campaign and, as promised, it signals that Smith is headed in a pure pop direction on their next album.

The song is available to stream on all services now and at press time it was unclear if it would appear on Smith's next, as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2017's Thrill of it All. Speaking of the tune, Smith wrote, "As a queer person ‘I feel love’ has followed me to every dance floor in every queer space from the minute I started clubbing. This song to me is an anthem of our community and it was an honour and most importantly so much fun to have a go at it..."

The track is a follow-up to Smith's "How Do You Sleep?" and the smash Normani collab "Dancing With a Stranger."
