The Driver Era Capture How it Feels to Be in Love With 'A Mixtape For Your Girlfriend': Takeover Tuesday Playlist

Welcome back to Takeover Tuesday, where each week, Billboard taps chart-topping artists and tastemakers to compile their very own playlist exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. We give the artists free rein to base the list on whatever subject they choose. The only rule? Make it as creative and unique to them as possible.

The Driver Era just released their debut album X in June. But the brother duo (Ross and Rocky Lynch) have already delivered two brand new tracks not even six months later: "A Kiss" and "Forever Always" arrived on Oct. 25.

Part of the reason for The Driver Era guys' quick music turnaround is that both Ross and Rocky are inspired by someone special. Their Takeover Tuesday playlist also reflects that, as they titled it "A Mixtape For Your Girlfriend."

Most of the 16 tracks on the playlist were sparked by how Rocky and Ross have been feeling in the past couple of months, including The Lumineers' "Patience," and Talking Heads' "This Must Be the Place." Some tunes were the result of random happenings, like Whitney's' "Polly," which Rocky heard while getting a tattoo recently.

Along with their own experiences, the Lynch bros even dedicated a song to their sister Rydel (Sure Sure's "Warm Animal"), who has also found a special someone. And of course, they had to toss in their new songs too, adding a track from X, "Giveuwhatuwant," as well -- all three of which encompass how it feels to be into someone.

The Driver Era will be bringing their lovestruck tunes on the road next year, as they just announced a world tour today (Oct. 29). Check out tour dates here, and their "Mixtape For Your Girlfriend" -- as well as some comments from Ross and Rocky -- below.
