Alfie Templeman, a new Chess Club Records signee, has announced his new EP Don't Go Wasting Time, and is premiering the project's title track exclusively with Billboard today (Oct. 29).

On the blissed-out new single, the 16-year-old bedroom pop prodigy croons over moving on from a lost love, all while playing every instrument and helming the record's production. "The song is about losing someone you one had, and your heart still being close to them," Templeman tells Billboard. "But you know it'll never be the same and you're reminding yourself not to waste time and to move on."

"Don't Go Wasting Time" follows equally shimmering lead single "Used to Love" as a second taste of what fans can expect from his upcoming EP, (out Nov. 5), which he calls his "most interesting record yet."

"I think everyone will take away something different," he says of the new music. "It's one of these records that has a different meaning depending on what you've experienced in life. I think that comes with all music though."

The EP will also mark Templeman's first official release after joining the roster of Chess Club Records, the influential London-based label behind the early releases of Mumford & Sons, Wolf Alice and others.

"Aflie is undoubtably one of the most naturally gifted young musicians/producer we have worked with at the label," Chess Club founder Will Street tells Billboard. "Alf lives and breathes music and has an infectious enthusiasm for his art. His approach to songwriting is instinctive and direct, and he just has a natural ability to write great hooks and grooves that make you feel good...it's rare to find such confidence, aptitude and maturity in an artist so young."
