Charli XCX performs onstage with Christine and The Queens on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Sept. 16, 2019.

Like most teenagers of the early 2000s, young Charli XCX was a frequent MySpace user. She clicked around the site to connect with friends, talk about her interests and, as she demonstrated on The Tonight Show on Monday night (Sept. 16), to release her music.

The singer appeared on Fallon to promote her recently released new album, Charli, which she did by explaining how the collection reflects her deep-dive into mental health, insecurities and anxiety. But at one point in the interview, Fallon brought up Charli's MySpace days, and asked her about one song in particular, aptly titled "Dinosaur Sex."

"I'm owning it," she said with a nervous laugh. "That one went something like 'T-Rex! Dinosaur sex! Watch me roar, watch me roar, watch me be like a dinosaur!'"

Along with speaking to Fallon about her album and the making of her "1999" video with Troye Sivan, Charli also performed the track "Gone" with Christine and the Queens. Clad in a translucent black dress over a black catsuit and a pair of embroided leather chaps, Charli danced with Christine around a set strewn with rope-covered furniture, eventually giving way to a hip-popping, light-flashing finale.
