5 Seconds Of Summer Team Up With Charlie Puth For 'Easier' Remix: Listen

The 'Attention' singer co-wrote the group's latest single.

5 Seconds of Summer had a special delivery Tuesday morning (Aug. 13) for those who think "Easier" sounds like Charlie Puth: A remix from the Voicenotes singer himself.

The Australian pop-rock group recruited Puth for a remix of their summer hit, which features a new first verse. "Why you always lookin' at your phone/ Watchin' people you don't even know/ I could lay here by myself alone, yeah/ I don't want us to be enemies/ So I'm thinkin' maybe I should leave/ Cause you're bringing out the worst in me, yeah," Puth sings before he delivers his rendition of the original pre-chorus and chorus.

The singer also lays down some classic Puth-style runs on the bridge and toward the end of the remix, proving that yes, "Easier" does sound like a Charlie Puth song.

It's no coincidence: Puth co-wrote the 5SOS single with Ryan Tedder, Louis Bell, Ali Tamposi and Andrew Watt. 5 Seconds of Summer have had fun with the comparison, sporting shirts that read "Easier Sounds Like Charlie Puth" and "WTF! Charlie & Luke?!" ahead of dropping their collab.

The "Easier" remix follows 5SOS' "Live From the Vault" version, which features a more electric-guitar driven bassline that isn't quite so Puthy.
