Josie Dunne Cleverly Erases Her Ex From Her Head in 'Ooh La La' Video: Exclusive

The warm, summery colors and excessive dancing may seem cheery on the surface, but don’t let it fool you -- Josie Dunne is actually in the midst of deleting her ex from her brain in her new video for “Ooh La La,” premiering exclusively via Billboard today (July 11).

Directed by Bree Marie Fish, the Nashville-based singer-songwriter lightens up the memory extraction by breaking into dance routines with the nurses. We also get to see her actual memories with her ex flashing back and forth between past and present. While the operation might be kind of sad, it’s definitely not a sad video. With Dunne’s quirky humor, it’s a charming display of the singer’s charisma and her ability to move on.

“In the video, I go in to see a ‘memory extractor’ to try to erase my ex from my head,” Dunne tells Billboard. “We shot it in this old hospital that was honestly probably haunted. But I'm really stoked with how the music video turned out. This song took months and months of writing and re-writing to get it to be exactly what I wanted so I was excited to make a video for it that I'm equally proud of.”

“Ooh La La” is from Dunne’s forthcoming EP, due later this year via Atlantic Records. She’s also set to hit the road this summer, including a stop at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, N.Y. with Phoebe Ryan.
