Pop Newcomer Nykki Makes Her Vibrant Debut With 'No Cry' Video: Exclusive

Debbie Scanlan

There's always room for a new girl to claim her stake in the pop world, and Nykki is the latest rising star to do so. The 20-year-old Czech Republic native is now setting her eyes on the mainstream market with her debut "No Cry" video, which premieres exclusively on Billboard today (July 10).

Produced by Tim Deal (Tom Walker, Lil Allen, The Saturdays), the track highlights Nykki's saccharine yet commanding vocals as she muses about letting go of a no-good lover. "I thought it would kill me if we said goodbye / But you never really knew me, so we lived a lie," she sings atop a sparkling melody. The accompanying video highlights the tune's journey, as the singer shifts from tousled black-and-white scenes with her boyfriend to vibrant shots of her being free among her friends.

"'No Cry' is a strong-minded break up song," Nykki tells Billboard. "It’s about looking back on a relationship and realizing that it wasn’t as good as you thought it was. I wanted the video to reflect this through dance movements too. There are emotional scenes where I dance with 'the ex' and empowering scenes where I dance with my girls, who are always around to support me! I am so happy with ''No Cry' as my first single. I hope everyone likes the video, as I almost broke my back filming it!

Nykki's "No Cry" will officially be released on July 11 across all digital platforms. A stripped down version of the song will drop on Aug. 9 with a remix by Leon Lour to follow. Check out the video below.
