Normani Sits Out Pittsburgh Sweetener Tour Date Due to 'Doctor's Orders'

Singer promises to be back on stage in New York this weekend.

Normani was absent from Wednesday night's (June 12) sold-out Sweetener tour date at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. While the show went on with headliner Ariana Grande taking the stage as usual, Normani alerted fans earlier in the day that she would have to rest.

"Following doctor's orders, Normani regrettably will not be able to perform at tonight's Sweetener tour stop in Pittsburgh," read a tweet.

The announcement didn't specify what is ailing the former Fifth Harmony singer and solo singer, but a spokesperson confirmed that Wednesday night's gig is the only one she is expected to miss.

Fellow opening Social House came on as usual before Grande in Pittsburgh and Normani promised fans that she will be ready to re-join the tour when it hits Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday night (June 14).
